Purpose

Vapor Barriers are a sheet of polyethylene plastic that is laid on the surface of the crawl space to prevent moisture from entering the crawl space and damaging the wood and insulation. The sheet will not allow for water to sit under it, it will make it go underground. This is crucial because when it is not done, mold begins to form and this can lead to health problems.
