Purpose

The purpose of a Sump Pump System is to prevent basement flooding and mold. We dig a small trench around the inside perimeter of the basement, place a perforated pipe and put gravel on top of it; afterwards we cover it back up with cement. The perforated pipe system goes around the perimeter and ends in a basin where the pump is located. When the water reaches a certain level, the pump turns on and deposits the water elsewhere, where it wont damage the foundation.
